This is an animated GIF I created for my Style and Design class. A GIF is an image file format that is created by combining frames of video images into a single file.
GIFs are a creative way to quickly capture the attention of your audience. They provide a short visual of the message you are trying to convey. GIFs are also great tools for professionals to visually communicate with customers.
The original clip was recorded on my iPhone 6 and was a 36 second video. I then uploaded the video to Adobe Photoshop, edited it to the certain clips I wanted to use and compressed the video into a GIF file. I then embedded the file into my website. What you see to the right is the final project.
The GIF I created features a group of my friends digging into a delicious dessert. When deciding what I wanted to film to create a GIF, my first thought went to my friends. Since the beginning of my freshman year of college at Auburn University, my friend group has ended most of our hang out times with a homemade skillet cookie, or as we like to call it, a “skookie.” Other people like to call it a “pizookie.” Whatever you choose to call the dessert, it is basically just one large chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, and it is delicious. To me, this GIF showcases something that I love, spending time with my friends. It makes me think of all the good times I have shared with people dear to me throughout my college experience. I think nothing brings people together better than a good dessert.
I wanted my GIF to incorporate my love for my friends as well as showcase my knowledge and ability to film, edit and format an animated GIF using Adobe Photoshop.
